View Photo »We had our chances, but we just didn't finish
I'm a fan of Patrick Marleau and the Sharks ... and there are more Sharks players on the Canadian team.
I don't like saying it, but 50 would be a great number ... We've got 17 games left.
I wouldn't read a whole lot into that other than, you know what, you can't retaliate ... You know that time and again, but again that's the human element that comes into it for all of us. We have all done things in a game that made us go, 'I shouldn't have done that,' but I wouldn't read too much into t...
Everybody talks about 50 being a big milestone ... If I could reach that, it would be unbelievable.
Their big line (of Joe Thornton, Dany Heatley and Patrick Marleau) has taken it to us and they’re whole team has.
It was complete pandemonium after the game ... In Vancouver, it took three green lights to get through a light if you were in a car. Everybody was excited. Everybody was whooping and hollering. Horns honking. People were hanging out windows. It was something spectacular to see.
The San Jose forward line (of Joe Thornton, Dany Heatley and Patrick Marleau) got stronger, stronger and stronger and it became clear to us that they would be on the team.
We won't be rubbing it in their face
We're better in some ways that really matter ... but we have a lot of work to do. It helps that we have more guys we can draw on night in and night out, that we're not just relying on the big guys (notably, the Oly Line of Joe Thornton, Dany Heatley and Patrick Marleau), but a lot of things still have t...
I jumped about five feet in the air and I couldn't get onto the ice fast enough
You know what, Chris Clark was a great captain and we're going to take our time and we're going to get it right ... Sometimes guys you think are automatic, they don't want it. I don't think Patrick Marleau wanted the captaincy in San Jose and there is too much pressure on him and he just wants to play. ...
That's how we've got to play
This is what we played all tournament for ... It’s going to be intense.
It was a little bit too harried there at the end ... But this is what we played all tournament for.
It's going to be a test, that's for sure
It's going to be intense, that's for sure ... This is what we played all tournament for.
The intensity will be up and that’s when the bodies will start crashing ... It’s going to come down to working hard and those battles for loose pucks and all those battles along the boards. We definitely need lots of traffic to out-battle for second chances.
Playing with two high-profile guys helps
What this means now ... is we have to win, basically. We just have to keep winning from here on. That's pretty much it.
I thought we ran into a hot goalie
We know they have a good team and good players ... We’ve seen them on TV.
I don't think that has anything to do with it ... We still have a job to do on the ice.
It's good for our confidence against these guys
I came in and just waited for him to make a move ... He tried for the poke check and I was able to get around him.
