New USC coach Lane Kiffin has received a commitment from a 13-year-old, seventh-grade quarterback in Delaware
Obviously, (possible NCAA sanctions) was something that came up at times ... But as I look at the class, if I would have guessed the class of what I anticipated it being at the end of the night tonight and you would have asked me three days ago to draw it, which I did, it was almost exact.
I just felt so comfortable at USC, and they have a great recruiting class coming in ... I will have a lot of great players around me, and (head coach) Lane Kiffin, (defensive coordinator) Monte Kiffin, and James Cregg, a great offensive line coach. I really enjoyed Los Angeles, and look forward to getti...
Obviously, we didn't do it up front ... If you study over the years, the skilled guys are easier to turn than the big guys, because a lot of times the offensive and defensive lines have more of a bond with their position coach or the school they are going to. It's hard to turn those guys.
We did think we needed more people there to create more competition
I'm sure it's one (group) Matt Barkley is excited to have around him
All that means is we've got some talented players, we've got a lot of work to do to coach them, to develop them ... As you see five-star players sign around the country, it's not about their stats, it's how you develop them.
Obviously it was something that came up at times ... But as I look at the class, if I would have guessed the class of what I anticipated being at the end of the night tonight and you would have asked me three days ago to draw it, which I did, it was almost exact.
I can't imagine there being as many star players in any class around the country as there will be here by the end of the day
Obviously, it was a great day for the Trojan family ... I'm extremely proud of the work done by our staff and everyone involved. To be here for just a couple weeks and to be able to sign so many of the top-ranked high school players in the country speaks volumes about the past and the future of the USC ...
I don't know that I've seen as skilled of a class before coming out of high school ... I'm sure it's one that Matt Barkley is excited to have around him. These guys are going to make any quarterback look good.
He's dynamic ... He can play a number of positions. He's very exciting.
I don't know if I've ever seen a 'skill' class as good as this one ... Matt Barkley is extremely excited. These guys are going to make any quarterback look good.
It was pretty easy, because I kept thinking about that left tackle (Henderson) who might be coming here.
There weren't really many surprises
It was a crazy couple of weeks
It won't necessarily maybe be a large number of signees because it's more important to sign players that we feel are really good players instead of just signing players to sign players for a ranking or for numbers
Every place I'm at for a minute may be a missed call ... It's closing time.
When we were hired, we said we would put together the best coaching staff in the country ... In Joe Barry, we’ve hit a home run. He was the only linebacker coach we went after, and, although it took a while, we’re excited to bring him back to the Trojan Family. He is an outstanding coach who has been pa...

It was very easy to see that we're home ... It was a very difficult decision. We thought a lot about it. It became very obvious that when we had a chance to come back here, we were coming back home to the greatest job in America. We're extremely excited to be back home.
I would tell him, ‘Congratulations, but I’m looking forward to the day that we play.’ I don’t care where I’m at. I’m always going to be looking for the day we play Lane Kiffin.
I think it's a very fair question
I think being at Tennessee prepared me for what we need to have here ... which (is) complete attention on making sure that we are running this program with great discipline and that we are in compliance with all the rules. I don't know that I could have done that 14 months ago.
Lane Kiffin (born May 9, 1975) is the head coach of the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He was previously the offensive coordinator for the USC Trojans. But we have a long way to go until kickoff and still have a lot of work to do. Kiffin knows the importance of keeping alive Tennessee's late-season surge. He also knows how difficult that task is going to be against No. 11-ranked Virginia Tech. I just think it's the next step for our program
