Rotational-wise, I've never been a 30-rep guy ... I work as hard as I can in the offseason so I can play 50 or 60 reps a game and that I don't miss time, that I'm not tired on third down. If the game is on the line in the fourth quarter, I'm still bringing it as hard as I can. The thing that I take the ...
He said I could be anywhere, anywhere in the country going after any player. ... He said, ‘I picked you because I want you.’ That meant a lot to me. It’s something I will never forget
He said, 'I could be anywhere in the country going after any player and I picked you
I had a lot of doubts and had a lot of questions ... Speaking with Coach Schwartz and hearing his optimism and his plans for the off-season, I got excited. Having played for Coach Schwartz, I have ultimate faith in him. It can be incredibly gratifying to be a part of something special and to be a part o...
I don't need to be patted on the back. I was never told I figured into the future plans and as the year went on, there was never a phone call
At this point in my career it would be nice to go to a Super Bowl team. It would be nice to go to a perennial playoff team ... But that is the thing he sold me on, the steps he planned to take, other than he was depending on me to be a playmaker on that team. He shared with me his vision and what direct...
I love the fact that this is a sports city and how crazy the fans were at the hockey game
He's the best defensive back I've ever seen in college ... He's so explosive, so physically gifted. I made a point to watch him because I heard all the hype.
He gave me a good idea of the direction they want to have this season, personnel-wise, scheme-wise and in the organization
The thing that I love most about what Coach Schwartz said is, 'We are bringing you in to be a big-time player,'
It was a strange deal because I was talking back and forth with my agent all day trying to figure out what to expect and just kept waiting, waiting, waiting
The vote of confidence he gave me [was great]
I am anxious. It is like I am nervous again, like when I first came to Tennessee ... That's what I was thinking about working out today. Nobody is going to care about my resume or what I have done in the past, Pro Bowls or how many sacks I've had. It is important to me to show up for the offseason progr...
There’s a better chance than not this is it
I felt great out there, played a lot of plays ... I had a lot of snaps inside and that's something I don't do a whole lot of, but it was fun. And it's always nice to win. I had a blast. I think we all did.
It looks like it's going to be a completely different defense, but it is not like a facelift from a top five defense ... It is a facelift from an average at best defense and sometimes you need an overhaul and sometimes change is good. We didn't have a great season so maybe (big change) is the answer.
I feel like I could fit into a lot of defenses ... but you know, it’s really too early to know where the best possibilities are.
From our standpoint right now, you not only prepare for the worst, that seems like the direction it's headed ... If players aren't prepared, if guys are in bad financial situations, it hurts our leverage as players.
The only thing the players and coaches have to go by is what I put on film. I have had players come up to me saying they love watching me play and getting that type of compliment, that is what makes me go, getting the respect from teammates
