View Photo »We haven’t had any problems, and the car doesn’t have a scratch ... I think we have done a fast but intelligent Dakar. It has been a very hard fight with my teammate. We knew it would be that way.
I know only about this from the internet and because I called one of our drivers Carlos Sainz on the weekend to hear about the story
I have fulfilled a dream by winning the Dakar
Congratulations to Carlos Sainz. What matters is that a Volkswagen won. I am happy for Carlos. He did his job. I tried to do mine. Next year, I'll win. But now I'll go shake hands with Carlos; he's part of the team.
It was a tough and daily fight against my team mate. I knew it would be like that.
A very, very important day for me ... I won in Europe, in Spain, and today in the Dakar. I am really happy and relieved. We drove very fast, but we were clever, too.

It has been a very important day for me

It was quite a slow and winding route, mostly lanes. What I did first was to get close to Nasser, then I stayed around at 1:40. After that, from the 80km po...
I'm very pleased because the hardest stages are behind us now ... It was a good stage because I've increased the gap between me and Nasser a bit.
